I received this email from the San Diego ADPi Alums, and thought I would post it on here so we can get the word out. Please remember your sisters in their time of need.
Pi Love,
Eta Sigma, San Diego State University

P.S. Sorry about the formatting but that's how it copied from the email. Let me know if you can't read it!

Dear Sisters
Words cannot express the amazing support and prayers
>that you all have sent to the Virginia Tech Community and Eta Pi chapter.
>This tragedy hit our students hard and is still a shock to most of us. To
> give an accurate account I want to fill everyone in on the details of
>the day. I awoke to the first email that there was a shooting in a
>dorm. I, like many others, thought that was the only incident and was
>going to call the women of our chapter who lived on campus to share my
>concern for their well-being. Within 20 minutes, we had been placed on
>lock down and people were being killed. I woke up my executive team and
>some other women in the house, split our phone list and began calling. I
>kept the chapter as informed as I could but the day honestly is a blur.
>My first concern was the safety of all 130 women. After hours of
>difficult communication lines with cell phones being tied up and students
>being held on campus, we had all but
> one contacted. Rumors flew and I had no concrete information until I
>heard from a close friend that we had a woman shot and in the hospital.
>She is in full recovery and I believe everyone's prayers got her through.
>Other chapters on our campus were not as fortunate and we are praying and
>holding together as a Greek community. Today's ceremonies with President
>Bush, the First Lady and the entire Virginia Tech community were moving,
>beautiful, and brought the realization that this tragic event had
>happened. The Sisters of Eta Pi have received every one of your emails
>and have appreciated the kind words and thoughts. I will speak with our
>sister's family about receiving gifts at the hospital but below is the
>house address Alpha Delta Pi 77A SPH Q Blacksburg, VA 24060 Again,
>I cannot put into words how I feel every time I receive another email from
>an Alumnae, chapter advisor, chapter president, or international officer.
>Your spirits have kept us
> going and we are truly blessed to have a bond so close that can be
>understood when so little can be said. Please feel free to contact:
> Me, Pam Reiss- President per712@vt.edu Hayley Hall- EVP
>hbhall@vt.edu Judie Reemsnyder- Chapter Advisor 1finepi@comcast.net
> Amy Parsons- TME Advisor aparsons02@aol.com
Thank you so much
>for the thoughts and prayers, please keep our sisters and the Virginia
>Tech community in your hearts.
Love and Loyally, Pam

May the Lord
>bless you and keep you May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be
>gracious to you May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you
>peace In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Amen Pamela

darth_kittius: Congressional Action

I just received the following in an email from our local Alumnae Chapter, and then verified on the ADPi Website:

To: International Officers, Alumnae Associations & House Corporations

Please see the message below and the attachment, which is being sent to you as requested by NPC Delegate Elisse Freeman.

Dear NPC Delegates and Presidents:

Please circulate the attached information on the September 27 Greek
Congressional Phone March ASAP to your members via e-mail and post it on your
websites. We are hoping to have a significant number of Greeks nationwide
participate in this event on Wednesday by calling their Members of the House and
the Senate and asking them to support the Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure

Everything your members need to know to participate in this event should be
included in the attached two pages - we just ask that you get it out to them
quickly via email. Thanks in advance to the groups that will encourage their
members to participate and who circulate the information needed to participate.
Kevin O'Neill

The Attachment is posted here (Word document) or in the cut below.

If you don't like calling, almost every Member of Congress has email contact forms available from their websites. Cut and paste the key points, make it into a nice email and click send.

Note: I couldn't get the contact form at www.fraternalcaucus.com to work -- but contacting Congress is the more important step anyway.

Just wanted to let everyone know that Eta chapter at University of Alabama got 78 gorgeous alphas this fall. Our university had 1400 girls go through formal recruitment. We ended up with the third or fourth largest pledge class on campus. This was my first bid day on the other side of rush, and I can honestly say there's nothing like it.

Eta will also be celebrating its Centennial on February 24, 2007. We're so happy to be the third longest operating chapter in the nation.
